The refined CX-12 Series from Hohner has already introduced many popular chromatic harmonicas to the world. Here, the already excellent design of the CX-12 gets even more extravagant. Beneath the red-to-gold fade paint-job, lies an insanely innovative design. The mouthpiece is extra-slim for maximum playing comfort and more control over air distribution and playing dynamics since the modified mouthpiece literally offers a better fit for your mouth. Via a zig-zag slide construction, notes can be bent by half a note with a simple movements and with improved precision, making every note of the three-octave range that bit easier to play.

The Technical Details of the CX-12

The innovative design of the CX-12 is paired with the ultra-modern materials used in its construction. The housing as well as the comb is made from solid ABS. 48 1.05mm thick brass reeds produce a sound that wouldn't just suit any genre of Jazz, but a tonal colour that would definitely feel at home in Rock and Blues. Tuned in C-major, this harmonica has three octaves ranging from C4 to D7, giving it a massive range, while the 12 holes have rounded channels for even more playing comfort. This rounded form is echoed by the edgeless housing which provides an altogether different kind of grip and a more snug feel. Hohner have also been considerate enough to design the CX-12 so that it can be easily taken apart and therefore easily maintained.

Since Hohner introduced the CX-12 back in 1992, chromatic harmonicas haven't been the same since. The revolutionary design of these models is not just unique but even elegant and considerately comfortable and has resulted in a more responsive instrument and more accurate note control. Following the immense success of the original, the CX-12 was due a little upgrade and as such, Hohner present the CX-12 Jazz. The biggest change lies in the newly-tapered mouthpiece which now provides a better fit for even more playing precision that ushers in a second revolution that might do away with any need for a third.
