The Fender American Standard Jazz Bass Fretless is available in two colours: Sunburst and this sleek black version. This electric bass guitar is a modern fretless version of the original Jazz Bass from the '60s. It features the same slender, asymmetrical alder body and comfortable 38mm narrow neck, along with the characteristically rich and roaring tone that made it so popular among many bass players in several music genres. Thanks to modern-day improvements, this hand-made American Fender J-Bass is once again completely up-to-date. Delivery includes a case and accessories.

Features of the American Standard Jazz Bass

This edition of the American Standard Jazz Bass was fitted with Fender Custom Shop '60s alnico 5 single-coil pickups. These are modelled after the original pickups but now provide some more output for extra punch, mids and bass. The High Mass Vintage bridge features the classic looks but has extra mass for a bigger tone and more sustain. What is more, the high-quality Hipshot machine heads are no less than 30% lighter than their predecessors. Additionally, the thinner coat of paint provides that the J-bass' wooden body can breathe and resonate better. The deeper tint of the neck adds to the elegant looks of this amazing classic.

No frets, yet extra tone

As its name implies, the Fender American Standard Jazz Bass Fretless has no frets. This may not seem like a major modification but it drastically influences the sound The sound of fretless bass guitars is often described as mellow, or sultry, warm and melodious.
