Sabian AAX 14 tums X-Plosion Crash

If your only problem as a company is that your product specialists are designing more cymbals than you can produce, then you're doing pretty well! Still though, it's a problem that required a creative solution, and that's just what they did over at Sabian when they came up with the Sabian Cymbal Vote. Sabian took twelve prototypes, including the X-Plosion Hat, to the US and Europe to record various drummers playing them, so Sabian fans around the world could vote on which Cymbals should be produced.

Voting

In order to broaden the voting pool even more Sabian put the contestants online, along with videos of famous drummers such as Mike Portnoy and Tony Royster Jr playing them. The result was a unique election in which drummers from the four corners of the globe chose Sabian's new product line!

14-inch X-Plosion Hat

This hi-hat's design is based on the X-Plosion crashes, famous for their versatility. The medium top cymbal is combined with a comparatively heavier bottom cymbal that delivers a remarkably beautiful sound. The solid bell furthermore ensures a strong, open sound. Of course, it's also easy to play this hi-hat in a tight, controlled manner if that suits your genre better.
