Ibanez' Artcore Expressionist series pushes the boundaries of semi-acoustic guitar design even further. The AS83 has a hollow-body made of maple with a stunning Steel Blue finish and chic gold hardware. It has a set-in 3-piece mahogany and maple neck with an Expressionist AS profile and a bound ebony fretboard with 22 medium frets and a 12-inch radius. The AS83 produces a rich, clear sound with bright mids.

AS83: jazz, funk and rock

This semi-acoustic guitar is equipped with two Super 58 humbucker pickups which are the same as those used on George Benson's, Pat Metheny's and John Scofield's own Signature guitar models. Naturally, they're great for jazz, but guitarists have been using this model for styles like funk and rock with great success too. Each pickup has its own volume and tone controls with Sure Grip III knobs and the pickups, together with the 3-way pickup switch, give you a wide variety of tones. Excellent tuning stability, great sustain and quick string changes are all made possible by the Quik Change III tailpiece and the ART-1 bridge.
