Brian Setzer is a true icon in the world of rock & roll, rockabilly and big band music. He's known for his explosive guitar playing and his intense use of his Bigsby tremolo - no wonder he modified his own Gretsch to endure such power. The bridge, for instance, has been fixed to the body with two wooden pins, and the guitar has Sperzel locking tuners. Additionally, the original pickups have been replaced by two feisty TV Jones Humbuckers and the tone controls have been simplified. Of course, all of these innovations can also be found on this Gretsch G6210, which is one of Brian's signature models.

Construction

Like the original G6120, this Brian Setzer Signature has a body made of 3-ply maple. Gretsch's patented 1959 trestle bracing reduces the chance of feedback, even at a high volume. The guitar's maple neck has a sizeable scale length of 24.6 inches and is fitted with an ebony fingerboard with 22 frets and characteristic thumbnail position markers. Naturally, this Gretsch is equipped with an original Bigsby tremolo bridge.

Gretsch's Brian Setzer Signature guitars have all been modelled after Brian's own beloved Gretsch G6120. In true Hot Rod spirit, the electronics have been stripped to the bare essentials: although Gretsch guitars are usually known for their extensive tone controls, this model only has a single volume knob. Brian Setzer's signature models come in a wide range of different colours. This chic 2Tone Tuxedo Black edition - which has a neck that's lighter than the body - is dressed to impress and ready to rock this town.
