It was a tremendous hit in the sixties, Fender's Coronado semi-acoustic hollow-body guitar. Today, it is back completely as a part of Fender's Modern Player series and features improved looks, build and tone. The Fender Coronado Candy Apple Red is the ideal instrument for guitarists that like something that's a little different from a traditional Fender guitar.

Fender Modern Player Coronado Candy Apple Red: more sustain thanks to the Center-Block

The thin semi-hollow maple body of the Coronado guitar has an alder Center Block, a solid wooden beam across the entire middle of the body that splits the body into two large chambers as it were and provides the guitar with more tone and sustain while reducing the chance of feedback. The front and back of the body of the Starcaster feature beautiful bindings that are also found around the characteristic F holes on the top. The C-shaped neck of this semi-acoustic guitar is also made of maple and has a rosewood fretboard with 21 medium jumbo frets and stunningly beautiful mother-of-pearl inlay position markers to give the already beautiful guitar even more flair. The guitar features chrome hardware and the Fender Coronado logo on its headstock.

Pickups

The Fender Coronado Candy Apple Red semi-acoustic guitar is equipped with two Fideli'Tron humbucker pickups and a three-position pickup switch. It has four controls with vintage-style knobs: a volume and tone control for each pickup. Additionally, this Fender Coronado guitar features an Adjusto-Matic bridge with a floating F trapeze tailpiece and a durable three-layer black pickguard to protect the body.
