The MX392 and MX393 boundary microphones are Shure unarguably belong in the 'smart microphones' category. Loaded with tons of features such as silent on/off switches for the diaphragm and LED indicators and a built-in preamp, the MX393C is prepared for immediate use in a wide range of applications including court rooms and conferences. Easy to use yet remarkably flexible, this microphone only has a single switch to toggle one of three modes: Push to talk, Push to mute and Push-on/Push-off.
These Shure microphones are available in different shapes and sizes or in this case, different cartridges and pickup patterns. Both the MX392 and the MX393 come in cardioid, super-cardioid and omnidirectional versions to give you a solution that best caters to your needs. In those include as little feedback as possible, the best choice would be to go for a cardioid or super-cardioid model. If you don't want to miss a thing, the omnidirectional is the way to go. Either way, the cartridges are interchangeable and available separately, so you can always decide to expand the possibilities in the future. Like we said, these are some brilliantly versatile microphones!
