For some guitarists, the rule of thumb is: the more power, the better. Why would you want a compact Hiwatt amp head from the British brand's Tube series when you could have a relatively bigger, more powerful 40-watt version? That's why Hiwatt developed the T40HD 40-watt amp head, which can also be switched to 20 watts. At 20 watts, you can produce a good amount of noise without ending up with a serious hearing impairment. This amp head produces an unmistakably British tube sound thanks to a tried-and-tested formula: two 12AX7 and a 12UX7 in the preamp and four EL84s in the power amp.

T40HD: tea for two

Despite the fact that the two available channels (normal and overdrive) share a 3-band EQ, you can adjust the gain and volume on each one separately. This amp head also has connection options for an external speaker, an emulated speaker out, an effects loop (send & return) and a foot switch for switching between channels and turning the reverb on and off.
