Treating Monuments-guitarist John Browne to his first signature axe, Schecter Guitars present the TAO-6: a swamp ash-bodied monster made for uber-tight-and-defined metal, courtesy of custom voiced Schecter USA Colossus and Chaosbreaker pickups as well as a few other perks. While Brown is already known for tight rhythm parts, this electric guitar has been specifically designed so he can kick that tightness up a notch. The superior stability stems from a carbon-fibre-reinforced neck, which is made of a 5-piece combo of wenge and padauk, and has been given an ultra thin U-profile for optimum comfort and an extra-deep carve for clean access up to the 24th fret.

Straight-Up Power

The John Browne TAO-6 has been kept simple in terms of control lay-out and pickup configuration. In fact, you're looking at nothing more than a single push-pull master volume pot and a 3-way pickup switch. While that's it, it's easily enough to cover any style without compromise, including jazz and blues since the push-pull function of the volume pot can be engaged to split the coils of both humbuckers for a tonal range that spans crystal-clear to pushed-and-punchy cleans. As well as a Hipshot bridge and a GraphTech nut, Schecter have installed a set of their own superb Grip-Lock tuners to guarantee dependable tuning stability.
