Smart design, high-quality wood, Seymour Duncan electronics, and Gotoh hardware. Every millimetre of the Ibanez AZ242 Premium Series guitar has been made with exacting craftsmanship. This super-Strat is also way more flexible than you might first assume. The SD Alnico-5 Hyperion humbuckers retain precise clarity whether clean or overdriven and support the tight look of this guitar with an intense yet reliable character of sound. A 5-way pickup switch and alter switch are provided, giving access to no less than ten different foundation tones that can be flipped from shimmering single-coil to full-fat double-coil in the literal blink of an eye. This is the Dyna-MIX10 system, and its what gifts the AZ242 with its insane level of versatility.
The Ibanez AZ242: Stable, Durable and Stunning Sound
The maple used to shape the neck has been treated with carbon during a very special process that lends a few very special qualities to this guitar. Dubbed the S-Tech Roasted treatment, the process has made the neck incredibly stable and resistant to the potential harm caused by temperature and humidity shifts. The quality of the neck and addition of a set of Gotoh locking tuners solidify the near-unshakable tuning stability of the AZ242 while injecting more sustain and improved balance across the frequency range.
