The Fender Standard Stratocaster HSS Plus Top Locking Tremolo (maple, Aged Cherry Burst) is quite a mouthful but for a good reason. The Standard version (here with a maple fretboard) is an affordable, very durable edition of the classic Stratocaster. What's more, the HSS is an indicator of this guitar's incredibly wide sonic range and its genuine Floyd Rose tremolo allows you to effortlessly create tonal dive bombs.
Flamed maple top
Careful readers may have noticed the words Plus Top. Plus Top means that this guitar has a glorious top made of flamed maple. This thin layer of wood on the properly resonant alder body has an exceptional grain that is emphasised by the transparent Sunburst finish. As mentioned, this is an HSS - or a Strat with a humbucker pickup - which is great for rougher types of music like rock, hard rock and metal for instance.
