From the aged vintage scratchplate to the 'rusty' screws and Custom Shop Hand-Wound Fat '64s Single-Coil Strat pickups, the Fender '64 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic takes the shape of the ultimate pre-CBS Strat. Besides the pickups, other characteristics that mark Fender's mid-sixties transitional period include the shape of the body and the logo on the headstock. Made in honour of every Stratocaster built in 1964, this special model gives you every vintage feature you'd want, plus a fistful of functional upgrades to satisfy more discerning, pro-level players.

The Time Machine: Specially-Selected Wood and a Gorgeous Relic'd Nitro Finish

Both graced with a painstakingly relic'd nitrocellulose finish, the 2-piece body is made of specially selected alder while the quarter-sawn maple has a period-accurate C-profile neck and comes finished with a laminated rosewood fretboard. Broadly Adaptable, Vintage Amplified Sound

One of those upgrades is the slightly flatter 9.5" fretboard radius, which combines with 21 narrow tall frets for a fast feel. Amplified by three Hand-Wound Fat ’64 single-coil pickups - the middle of which features reversed polarity to counter hum - the foundation sound shaped by the body and neck allows you to pull a wide range of vintage sounds out of your amp. At the same time, the Tone Saver bleed circuit helps to retain the trebles, and for supple vibratos, you've got a vintage Synchronized Tremolo bridge at your disposal.
