Those who want an authentic Strat, and won't settle for anything less than professional quality, choose a model from Fender's American Standard series. The Fender American Standard Stratocaster (Bordeaux Metallic, maple fretboard) is a particularly attractive example as it features a chic red body and a maple fretboard (for a sound that's a little clearer than that of the RW versions). This American-made electric guitar is also fully loaded with famous Strat features (from the three single coils to the vintage tremolo) and is upgraded in several ways to make it an incredibly stable instrument that can accurately be tuned and produces a sound as powerful as possible.

American Standard Strat BDM MN: clear and fat

The base sound of the American Standard Strat BDM MN is produced by its powerfully resonating alder body, a massive steel sustain block and an extra-thin lacquer. Additionally, the three Custom Shop Fat '50s pickups play an immensely important role as these pickups, with their alnico V magnets, provide this guitar with a twangy, yet fat Strat sound. The middle pickup is reverse-wound so you won't be bothered by the single-coil hum in the pickup switch's positions 3 and 4. A notable feature is the No-Load second tone potentiometer - open it fully to take it out of the tone circuit and create an even purer sound.

The professional American Standard series comprises the most recent US-built versions of Fender's four most famous guitars: Stratocaster, Telecaster, Precision Bass and Jazz Bass. They all feature a quality ash or alder body, an average-gauge C-profile maple neck and a relatively flat maple or rosewood fretboard, as well as a reliable, sustain-enhancing bridge and (often) Custom Shop pickups for the classic Fender sound.
