If you're looking for a guitar with a vintage look and sound, the EC-401 VF DMZ TSB by LTD is definitely worth careful consideration. This guitar is equipped with DiMarzio humbuckers and a traditional Tobacco Sunburst finish. Thanks to the semi-transparent lacquer, you can still see the beautiful tiger-like pattern of the Flamed Maple top. The set-in neck features a rosewood fretboard with 24 frets and allows for remarkably fast, smooth chords, string bends and complicated solos.
LTD EC-401VF Tobacco Sunburst (DiMarzio): quality
The durable EC-401VF Tobacco Sunburst (DiMarzio produces a warm, open sound with plenty sustain, largely due to its mahogany body. Its rosewood fretboard and maple top add somewhat of an edge to the mids and trebles. Moreover, the high-quality DiMarzio pickups ensure a very detailed tonal transference. Even the finish is of high standards, as you can tell by the white flag position markers on the fretboard and chrome-plated hardware.
DiMarzio pickups
The DiMarzio PAF 36th Anniversary pickups produce a rugged vintage sound and were modelled after the ones on Larry DiMarzio's 1959 LP® guitar. Each pickup is actually two pickups. The power of two magnetic fields ensures lengthier sustain and produces a highly defined sound and a moderate output. To ensure a rock-solid intonation this guitar is equipped with Grover machine heads and a Tune-O-Matic bridge.
