Alex Wade, guitarist of the excellent deathcore-band Whitechapel, was approached by ESP to create a signature model together. The result? the LTD AW-7, notable for its red mahogany body, flamed maple top and seven strings. The roaringly deep sounds that this instrument produces are sent to your amp via two Dimarzio D-Activators - fast, passive pickups with a powerful output and lots of headroom, comparable to active pickups!
AW-7: speed and sustain
LTD gave the AW-7 a neck-through-body as well as a strings-through-body construction for improved attack and sustain. What's more, this guitar sports a tight-sounding ebony fretboard. Apart from great sustain, the advanced metal guitarist can enjoy this guitar's fast, slender U-profile neck and extra-jumbo frets for incredibly smooth string bends.
