The Yamaha NCX1FM offers all the playing feel of a traditional classical guitar but has the acoustic voice of a contemporary instrument. The fitted solid spruce top ensures a more fresh and present edge and a more modern sound than a lot of its ancestors and this is faithfully amplified by an Atmosfeel preamp system. The piëzo pickup registers the mid-range with satisfying warmth, lending the on-stage sound prominence while an internal microphone registers the higher frequencies and natural resonance of the body without ever allowing the sound to get too sharp. Both signals as well as the bass EQ can be balanced as desired using the discreet on-board controls. While this is a modern performance-ready instrument complete with pre-installed strap-buttons, the neck retains that snug and familiar feel of a standard classical model, and what marks this particular guitar out from its NCX1 counterpart is the stunning flamed maple back and sides.
