The EWS Little Brute Drive is the mini version of the Brute Drive from EWS. This itty-bitty overdrive pedal takes up little space on your pedalboard but roars with the same vintage-style distortion as its bigger brother. By setting the super-simple gain pot at a low level, this pedal can be compared to the sound of a vintage clean boost with light overdrive and when opened up, you get a full, fierce distortion. Since this single pot pulls so much out of the Little Brute, EWS naturally figured that nothing else was needed. If you want to tweak the overall effect and create a wholly unique drive, this can be done using two internal trim-pots that adjust the treble and output level with precision. This little pedal gives its best performance when powered by a standard 9 Volt power supply.

EWS

EWS stands for Engineering Work Store and was originally set up in 2006 as a repair centre for PCI Japan. EWS believes that the best music comes from instruments that have been well cared for and have repaired, modified and adjusted plenty of instruments over the years. They also started modifying effects pedals like the Arion SCH-Z (Chorus/Vibe) and the Wah Point-to-Point. In 2009, they started producing their own effects pedals, including the Fuzzy Drive and the LBD which proved popular and led to a range of pedals for bassists like the Tri-Logic Bass Preamp and the BMC. All of their pedals are robust, easy to use and offer great sound.
