Percussionists often have a car full of instruments to haul around, even just for rehearsals. To help ease your burden, Pearl designed the PTC-1175 Travel Conga - a small conga that's just 3.5 inches (8.89 cm) high and 11.75 inches (29.8 cm) in diameter. That means it will even fit into your backpack. The Travel conga is constructed in a similar way as a regular conga, using a wooden shell (Thai oak, in this case). Even the drumhead is the same as the ones on full-size congas: a Remo Fiberskyn 3. Remo Fiberskyn heads are synthetic heads, which are highly resistant to moisture and temperature changes. Thanks to its traditional construction and drumhead, the Travel Conga offers the same feel and authentic sound as a regular conga. Using the five tuning lugs and the included Allen key, you can adjust the drumhead's tension.
