Allmänt

The CAJ1SNT-M is a snare cajon by Meinl. You play this originally Peruvian instrument while seated on top of it. Nowadays, Meinl produces their cajons in Spain, but fortunately that does not aversely affect their quality. The body has a natural finish, showing off the rubberwood, while the adjustable frontplate is made of American white ash. Cajons are quickly gaining popularity, as more and more people discover the fact that it's an excellent instrument for accompanying other musicians during smaller-scale performances.

Sound Port Ring and rubber feet

While most of the technology is found on the inside of the body, the outside also offers plenty of interesting features. The back, for instance, is where you'll find the Sound Port Ring, which compresses the sound you produce as it exits the body. On the bottom of the cajon, you'll find special rubber feet which keep the body from being damaged and prevents the sound from distorting due to contact with the ground. Finally, one of the most important parts of this cajon is the adjustment knob on the side.

Fine-tuning

By turning the adjustment knob you can adjust the tension of the snare wires - you can accurately fine-tune the sound of your cajon to suit your preferences, as it offers you much more possibilities than merely turning the snares on or off.
