The Spanish brand Manuel Rodriguez has expanded on their guitar-building expertise with the addition of a series of cajons, including this one. The New Buleria has a birch body and an ebony playing surface, a combination of materials that ensures a sturdy construction and warm tone with deep bass and sharp slaps. The sharpness is a result of the two snare wires in a V tension that are mounted against the playing surface on the inside of the instrument. The whole thing is finished in a natural matte lacquer so the unique wood grain really comes through.

Flamenco cajon

The sound of the New Buleria is particularly suitable for traditional Flameco music, in combination with Spanish guitars, which Manuel Rodriguez also builds! This cajon has a tuning mechanism as well, so you can adjust the snare wires for a sharper or a more muted tone, which makes it ideal as an alternative for a drum kit at an acoustic gig as well.
