Size does matter. This 24-inch Remo Ebony bass drumhead is quite impressive, and so is its sleek black look. As it's part of the Powerstroke Pro series, it allows for a powerful kick sound while filtering out unwanted resonance and overtones. This mean you won't have to get creative with your muffling, and you won't need to stuff your bass drum with coats or blankets. The PR-1424-00 Powerstroke Pro is made of a single ply of 10-mil-thick (0.25mm) Mylar film.

The people at Remo fitted this head with a Pressure Dampening Profile. This damping system consists of an extra ring that is spot-welded to the outer edge of the batter head. Furthermore, they fitted it with acoustic foam isolation material, that helps shape the sound of the head - it has plenty of low-end punch, warm mids (partly thanks to the Ebony finish) and it helps reduce unwanted noise and sustain. That does not mean, however, that the PR-1424-00 muffles all the sound right out of your drum. This Remo Ebony Powerstroke Pro is a head that can take quite a beating, resulting in a beautifully focused kick sound.
