The seven-string Jackson SLATXMGQ3-7 is a Soloist model from the attractively priced X series that really stands out. Thanks to its transparent red lacquer, the pattern of the quilted maple becomes visible which makes this guitar beautiful to look at. The sound of this guitar is great for metal music, among other genres, especially because of the high and very tight output of the two active EMG pickups and the extra bass string (low B). The durable Floyd Rose Special tremolo bridge allows you to take your tone down even further.
SLATXMGQ3-7: neck-through-body
Like other Soloist guitars, the SLATXMGQ3-7 has a neck-through-body construction. This means the neck is extended through the entire length of the body to provide your strings with even more sustain and a much more direct sound. The neck is also very slim (a so-called Speed Neck) which makes it easier to play solo parts smoothly. Besides, the jumbo-sized frets and the compound radius (which starts out convex and flattens towards the body) also contribute to more playing comfort. The guitar features a characteristic Jackson headstock and position markers.
