Yamaha MP TR Shew Jazz S munstycke till trumpet

Together with Bobby Shew Yamaha has created the MP TR Shew Jazz S mouthpiece for trumpet. This mouthpiece has a relatively deep cup (compared with the Shew Lead mouthpiece) for producing a spacious, warm sound. The throat and backbore are developed for optimal playing of fast jazz passages, making this of course an ideal jazz mouthpiece!

The Signature series

There's no way to avoid it, the best instruments are always made in collaboration with the best musicians. These musicians are happy to be a part of the process too, seeing as they get their perfect instrument out of it! As such, Yamaha's Signature series boasts an attractive number of mouthpieces for brass instruments that are named after the famous musicians who helped design them.

Bobby Shew

Shew was born in New Mexico and got his start playing in local clubs while he was in high school. Later on Shew relocated to LA and developed into a talented jazz trumpet player. As a lead player Shew has lead a big, lively career filled with recording and producing critically acclaimed albums. He received the "Outstanding in his Field" Grammy nomination in 1980, and "Heavy Company" won the Jazz Album of the Year award in 1983.
