Part of the more budget-friendly Alternative Series, the Fender-made FA-135CE electro-acoustic is a compact and comfortable concert-bodied steel-string that boasts the tonal depth and sparkling sound of a spruce soundboard, a basswood back and sides, and a nato neck. To elevate the playing comfort even further, the neck has been given Fender's own easy-to-play profile and the edges of the walnut fretboard have been rounded off, making the FA-135CE feel particularly snug in the hands of finger-picking guitarists. For the more intrepid finger-pickers that perform a lot of melodic work at the higher frets, Fender have given the body of this Alternative Series flat-top a deep cutaway to grant easier fret reach. Meanwhile, due to the 25.3 inch scale length, the string tension is reduced for a lighter feel beneath your fingers, and the fretboard radius is a little flatter than average, supporting a faster playing feel overall. To give the warm acoustic sound the amplification it deserves, a Fishman piezo pickup and preamp have been fitted complete with volume, treble, and bass controls and a built-in tuner.
