iZotope RX Plug-In Pack: get rid of clicks and hum
The RX Plug-In Pack contains four plugins, each with its own specific function. De-click removes the kind of clicks and pops you can hear on vinyl records. Sensitivity levels are adjustable, of course. Is the hum of that ground loop seriously getting on your nerves? No worries, the De-hum plugin will sort it out for you. The Adaptive mode even allows you to get rid of hum that changes frequency over time.
Distortion and noise
Studio engineers often come across recordings that are tainted by distortion and noise. The first issue can easily be solved by means of De-clip, a user-friendly plugin that effortlessly takes care of the familiar harmonics you hear during clipping. Noise can also be a nuisance, especially if you're trying to combine recordings of varying quality into a single edit. iZotope's noise-reducing De-noise plugin is a great tool for perfecting vocals, voice-overs and podcasts.

Typisch een plugin die ik dacht niet veel nodig te hebben toen ik hem in mijn iZotope Music Production Suite 2 erbij kreeg. Niets is minder waar. Recentelijk een zangeres in de studio gehad die geen ademgeluiden wilde horen. Deze plugin fixte het eenvoudig en snel! Vervolgens een lo-fi album moeten mixen dat zonder noise reduction op 15 ips op tape was opgenomen, en rx kon de ruis significant verminderen. Het valt nu in mijn categorie 'essentiële tools'! I.v.m. latency en CPU is het raadzaam deze plugins na het instellen te 'freezen' of 'committen'.
